Lazer Tag Academy is an animated television series inspired by Worlds of Wonder's Lazer Tag that was created by Ruby-Spears Productions. The series aired on NBC from September 13 to December 6, 1986. It was later shown in reruns under the new title Lazer Patrol on the Sci Fi Channel as part of Sci Fi Cartoon Quest.

Jamie Jaren, the thirteen-year-old Lazer Tag champion who possesses curious powers over the energy emitted from her Lazer Tag StarLyteâ„¢ unit, chases her evil ancestor Draxon Drear to the year 1987, to protect Beth Jaren, a distant ancestor of Jamie. Drear reasons that by kidnapping Beth and changing history, Jamie will never be born, and no one will be able to stop the evil Drear.
