18th Apr 1988

TIN-WAI is on his way to his aunt's house when he is stopped by some gangsters. He starts a fight with them and is helped by LEE FAT. Police inspector KWOK-KIT dates YING-KIU, a court prosecutor. The meeting turns out to be unpleasant, and YING-KIU is given a lift by TIN-WAI. Foreign correspondent DAN-TUNG wants to interview CHEUNG NGAI. She tries various means and finally has him promise to be interviewed.

19th Apr 1988

TIN-WAI starts dating YING-KIU. KWOK-KIT is jealous. YING-KIU's mother LAI-WAH has an old boyfriend KA-LEUNG. She has been wooed by him for years. Because of YING-KIU, she does not accept his marriage proposal. CHEUNG NGAI is the big, boss behind a drug crime. He orders his assistant AH LUNG to have AH HUNG and AH MAN killed. CHEUNG NGAI starts dating DAN-TUNG, who hates his guts.

20th Apr 1988

KWOK-KIT handles the case of the murder. CHEUNG NGAI employs TIN- WAI as the lawyer. Veteran lawyer YING-YEUNG encourages TIN-WAI to co-operate with CHEUNG NGAI but beware of CHEUNG's assistant SZETO YUEN. DAN-TUNG visits an ex-broker ZHAO in a psychiatrist hospital. ZHAO gets in a fit and holds DAN-TUNG as hostage. TIN-WAI happens to be there visiting his deranged father. The situation becomes chaotic.

21st Apr 1988

DAN-TUNG is apologetic for causing the confusion in the ward. She invites TIN-WAI for dinner. DAN-TUNG starts an affair with CHEUNG NGAI in order to get close to him. CHEUNG NGAI calls a meeting with other drug dealers. He informs them to stop doing drug business for a while. One of them objects and is shot dead. DAN-TUNG sneaks in CHEUNG NGAI's house to look for his secret documents.

22nd Apr 1988

CHEUNG NGAI discovers DAN-TUNG's moves. He orders SZETO to find out about her. KWOK-KIT engages in a quarrel with YING-KIU when he sees her having dinner with TIN-WAI. YING-KIU openly declares that she has chosen TIN-WAI. KWOK-KIT is heart-broken. CHEUNG NGAI sets up DAN-TUNG after learning that she is the sister of TSUI KEUNG whom he has killed. DAN-TUNG falls into CHEUNG's trap and injures his assistant. DAN-TUNG seeks advice from TIN-WAI. TIN-WAI suggests she admits her offence to the police. To their surprise, the police arrests DAN-TUNG and charges her of murder.

25th Apr 1988

DAN-TUNG tells TIN-WAI her story. TIN-WAI decides to defend DAN-TUNG in the court. YING-KIU is appointed the prosecutor of this case. She and TIN-WAI agree to see each other less often. KWOK-KIT listens to MAY's advice and starts wooing DAN-TUNG. But she remains indifferent. CHEUNG NGAI learns that TIN-WAI has taken up the case. He warns him about it. But TIN-WAI is unmoved.

26th Apr 1988

DAN-TUNG is under great pressure during the court hearings. TIN-WAI tries to comfort her. YING-KIU is jealous. TIN-WAI helps DAN-TUNG move out of her present apartment. DAN-TUNG has gradually fallen in love with him. CHEUNG NGAI plans to buy TIN-WAI over to his side. He is furious when TIN-WAI coldly refuses him. LEE FAT learns of the plight of TIN-WAI. He decides to help him find out more about CHEUNG NGAI.

27th Apr 1988

LEE FAT tries to befriend CHEUNG NGAI's follower AH LUNG. AH LUNG learns about LEE FAT's background and has him seriously beaten. DAN-TUNG is getting more despaired about her situation. She goes up t0 TIN-WAI's house and sees KWOK-KIT and YING-KIU there. Despa- rate, she steals KWOK-KIT's gun and goes to kill CHEUNG NGAI. YING- KIU discovers it in time to stop her.

28th Apr 1988

ING-KIU gets to sympathize with DAN-TUNG after learning her story. She is in a dilemma as whether to continue acting as the prosecutor. TIN-WAI and the others celebrate YING-KIU's birthday. DAN-TUNG feels even more lonely. She bursts out her feed for him. TIN-WAI is surprised. CHEUNG NGAI tells DAN-TUNG that CHU PUI, the man she injured, has died. Shocked with fear, DAN-TUNG goes for TIN-WAI. CHEUNG NGAI has informed the press to TIN-WAI's house. They take pictures of the two kissing.

29th Apr 1988

The kissing pictures of TIN-WAI and DAN-TUNG are published. TIN-WAI's reputation suffers. But he refuses to withdraw from the case. YING-KIU is angry when she sees the pictures. When she finds out that her boss has transfer the murder case to her colleague, she at once resigns from her post. TIN-WAI tries to persuade an old servant of CHEUNG NGAI to stand as witness. His efforts come to no avail. TIN-WAI receives a big blow when his license is suspended.

2nd May 1988

TIN-WAI is depressed as his lawyer's license is suspended. YING-KIU tries to comfort him but weds very little. TIN-WAI resigns from the lawyer firm. YING-YEUNG cannot convince him to stay. YING-KIU decides to go abroad to further her studies. YING-YEUNG persuades her to stay with TIN-WAI and help him get through this dif- ficult. period. She refuses:

3rd May 1988

TIN-WAI hangs around bars and discos. He avoids seeing all his friends. TIN-WAI meets SZETO YUEN in a bar and is insulted by him. YING-YEUNG appoints Peter to defend DAN-TUNG. DAN-TUNG is dis- appointed not seeing TIN-WAI. She refuses to be defended by Peter. YING-YEUNG gets TIN-WAI's father to see TIN-WAI, who remains unmoved. At this point, PING-KIU appears.

4th May 1988

TIN-WAI and YING-KIU reconcile. She encourages him to help DAN-TUNG out of her predicament. TIN-WAI goes to the prison to see DAN-TUNG. Encouraged, DAN-TUNG finally accepts another defendant lawyer. The court hearings start. The case is unfavorable to DAN-TUNG. She wants to commit suicide, but is stopped by TIN-WAI. DAN-TUNG is convicted guilty. She is sentenced to death..

5th May 1988

6th May 1988

TIN-WAI pays Visit to the servant's tomb and meets CHEUNG NGAI. He wants to beat him but is stopped by YING-KIU. TIN-WAI takes his father out for a walk and meet CHEUNG NGAI again. CHEUNG has TIN-WAI and his father beaten. By chance, TIN-WAI meets the servant's son AH KEUNG and learns that the tape is still in the post office. TIN-WAI immediately applies for using the tape as evidence. The court approves.

9th May 1988

The cassette tape is used as evidence to prove that DAN-TUNG is innocent. DAN-TUNG is released. TIN-WAI and the others celebrate for DAN-TUNG for gaining her free- dom. All agree that DAN-TUNG should accompany TIN-WAI to an outly- ing island for a vacation. KWOK-KIT takes up the investigation for the murder of CHU PUI. He decides to gather evidence for suing CHEUNG NGAI. TIN-WAI and DAN-TUNG feel affection for each other. But they both try hard to suppress.

10th May 1988

SZETO YUEN buys AH CHUEN into admitting the crime so that CHEUNG NGAI could stay out of the law. TIN-WAI, DAN-TUNG and LEE FAT sneak in CHEUNG NGAI's place to look for evidence. They are discovered and are trapped in a fire. They manage to escape at the critical moment. SZETO YUEN orders a killer to get DAN-TUNG. The killer tattoos on DAN-TUNG with threatening words

11th May 1988

TIN-WAI arranges DAN-TUNG to stay in his home in order to better take care of her. KWOK-KIT talks to AH CHUEN's wife, hoping that she can persuade AH CHUEN to give up helping CHEUNG NGAI. YING-KIU goes up to TIN-WAI's place and sees him kissing DAN-TUNG. In anger, she decides to break up with him.

12th May 1988

AH CHUEN finally agrees to reveal the truth to the police. KWOK-KIT at once has CHEUNG NGAI arrested. DAN-TUNG knows that YING-KIU has misunderstood her. She decides to move out from TIN-WAI's house. CHEUNG NGAI orders the killer to kill witness AH FU. TIN-WAI helps AH FU escape and is attacked by SZETO YUEN. In order to save TIN-WAI, LEE FAT is gunned by SZETO YUEN.

13th May 1988

LEE FAT dies in the hospital. TIN-WAI is agonized. In the court, AH CHUEN changes his mind and declares himself the killer. TIN-WAI and the others are shocked. CHEUNG NGAI wants to flee from Hong Kong. The police have him ambushed. DAN-TUNG helps in the chase and finally gets CHEUNG NGAI. CHEUNG NMI and SZETO YUEN are convicted. DAN-TUNG leaves TIN-WAI so that he can go back to YING-KIU. But YING-KIU decides their love is over.
